Errol Walsh --- Stagalee days
As this is my home website you've probably got more than enough information on me already!
But in case I neglected to say it elsewhere..
Whatever the genre... the song, the groove & the feel are my main focus, and my philosophy has always been to surround myself with top class musicians to explore whatever musical genre I'm into at any given time...... and when it comes to Stagalee in particular... it's all about the groove!
On a personal note, I like to think I have a healthy sense of humour (tempered with a fair degree of cynicism!) subscribing heartily, as I do, to Hunter S. Thompson’s wry comment on the ‘music business’ which reads as follows:
“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench,
a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free,
and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.”
My only regret when it comes to Stagalee is that, despite having recorded a couple of good singles back in the day, and having a back catalogue of studio and live recordings, we never got around to actually releasing ‘that album’ before the musical landscape changed radically with the advent of the punk generation... but now, on reflection, that's cool ...
“To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - Turn, turn turn
and a place to every purpose under heaven.”
(The Byrds - 1965)
